movies are edited under linux using GPL NLE software:
cinelerra, kino, ffmpeg, mencoder.
3D animation GPLIGC(ogle), tracks read with gpsdump for linux.
Update: 30.10.2006 Got Canon HV10, HDV 1080i camera. First results are impressive, 1080i
is a way better than 576i DV, even the MPEG2 compression is not visible. Good thing is that old DV tapes can be used, and in cheap way I can have a master archive.
The camcoder i use is Panasonic GS120, it is light (0.5kg) and has 3ccd. Unfortunately it is
(as everything under 2k$), interlaced and having no image stabilisation (it is clearly visible).
The camera is sometimes mounted to self made support, and sometimes just mounted on my
leg (like vario - e.g dolimiti). The latest movie's aerials Bassano II is made mostly from
camcoder mounted on my helm (using Velcro/Klettband/Rzep). I am still in search for optimal
system and any comments and advices are welcome.
